I learned the value of intellectual property in my first legal position, managing the intellectual property rights for the estates of entertainment legends such as Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, and Buddy Holly. I saw first-hand the importance of intellectual property to clients, the wonderful and unique families with whom I forged strong relationships.
Over time, I have built on that foundation to become an experienced trademark attorney. Clients have included Fortune 500 companies, tech companies, small businesses, start-ups, individuals, and nonprofits.
The most rewarding part of my work, though, is being involved in the initial stages of a business or the development of a new product line, helping clients choose and protect strong and valuable trademarks, and watching those brands grow.
I have over a decade of experience assisting clients with the establishment and protection of their valuable intellectual property rights. I counsel my clients in protecting and enforcing their rights by managing intellectual property portfolios; evaluating and screening potential trademarks; preparing and filing trademark applications; prosecuting, maintaining and enforcing domestic and foreign trademarks; registering and enforcing copyrights; and negotiating, transferring, and licensing trademarks and other intellectual property.
My non-lawyer side
I live with my husband in the live music capital of the world, Austin, Texas. We love watching live music, spending time with our dogs, and hiking in the beautiful greenbelt surrounding Austin, as well as traveling and visiting family.
I enjoy volunteering for animal rescue organizations by providing fundraising and event planning support. I am also a member of various nonprofit organizations supporting Austin musicians and filmmakers. In addition, I am involved in my local neighborhood association.
