My work in law firms, museums, and universities has given me experience and insights that I am excited to bring to work with my clients. My work is fueled by my clients’ passion for and pride in their work. Together, we can protect and enhance your ideas, dreams, and projects.

I joined the Law Offices of Gretchen McCord because of our shared commitment to high quality legal representation tailored to the individual client.

It is working with clients to pursue their own visions and goals that motivates me.

My experience

I am a 2010 cum laude graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School, where I served as a member of the Minnesota Journal of Law, Science and Technology

My work experience includes advising individual and corporate clients, museums, and universities on intellectual property, cultural property, and small business matters. I have also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota and the University of Arkansas law schools teaching on cultural property law and legal issues faced by museums and other cultural institutions.

In addition, I have been an invited a speaker on intellectual and cultural property rights and regulations at international assemblies and for entrepreneurs.

I am honored to have been awarded the 2018 American Bar Association Legal Assistance for Military Personnel (ABA LAMP) Distinguished Service Award for my pro bono work with the Legal Assistance Office at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, where I provide a wide range of legal services to service members and their families.

My philosophy

Supporting my clients’ objectives and contributing to the success of their ventures is a privilege.

I work with clients as part of their team, bringing outside tailored experience and expertise to enhance my clients’ work.

Working with clients, always sensitive to their needs, I:

  • Invest the time to understand what each client needs from our representation
  • Craft creative solutions to the problems presented
  • Communicate the legal issues and potential solutions efficiently and effectively
  • Produce a work product understood by and tailored to each client’s needs and goals

My non-lawyer side

My husband, our children, and I are a military family. His service to the United States Army provides us with the opportunity to explore new environments and cultures, enriching our lives and broadening our perspectives.
